DH Peligro of 'Dead Kennedys' dies after accidental fall at home, says band

Rock band "Dead Kennedys" has announced that its long-time drummer DH Peligro passed away at the age of 63 after a fall at his home. According to the statement, DH Peligro died at home on October 28. An accidental fall caused trauma to the head.

According to TMZ, paramedics arrived at the drummer's residence. He was found in the bathroom and pronounced dead. As reported by a popular entertainment news channel, an autopsy is scheduled soon. Funeral arrangements will be announced soon, the release said.

In 1981, Peligro replaced original drummer Bruce Slesinger in the anti-establishment band. Among the albums he played on were In God We Trust, Inc, Plastic Surgery Disasters, Frankenchrist, and Bedtime for Democracy.


One of the first black musicians on the punk scene, Peligro has often spoken about his encounter with racism. In an interview with LA Weekly, he told LA Weekly that music allows you to go places you wouldn't usually go, and during a show, it's good on stage, but off stage, everyone else is drunk and calls offensive names. The group disbanded in 1986.



Brandon Cruz replaced former frontman Jello Biafra when Ray, Peligro, and Kurt Flouride reformed the band in 2001. Peligro, the drummer, was added later on. As a tribute to the great band the Dead Kennedys, Biafra made some tweaks to its hit song and released it in the year 2017.
