The prequel series Dexter: Original Sin has been renewed for a second season. Showtime and Paramount+ confirmed the news after the conclusion of Season 1 on February 14, 2025. The series first premiered in December 2024.

Season 2 Renewal

The announcement comes after the first season ended in February. Dexter: Original Sin serves as an origin story for Dexter Morgan. The show takes place in 1991 and follows young Dexter as he learns to control his urges. Patrick Gibson plays the young Dexter. Michael C Hall, who played the original Dexter, provides the inner monologue.

The show follows Dexter as he struggles with his violent urges. His father, Harry, played by Christian Slater, guides him. Harry teaches him a code to target people he believes should be removed from society. Dexter starts a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department while learning to avoid law enforcement detection.
