As Desus, Mero officially part ways, Bodega Boys series to not have a Season 5

Duo Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, popular comedians who hosted one of the most loved talk shows with their podcast Bodega Boys on Showtime, are now officially parting ways.

Desus and Mero, who also go by the names Daniel Baker and Joel Martinez, respectively, are the most happening comedy hosts via their podcast Bodega Boys on Showtime. After they had started their podcast with Desus vs. Mero and Bodega Boys podcast on Complex TV, the two also had a show on Viceland from 2016 to 2018. The duo then bagged the late-night series on Showtime and took the show mainstream.

Final episode

In a statement, Showtime declared on Monday evening that the late-night talk show had aired its final episode on June 23, Thursday and the show will not return for its fifth season. Desus Nice and The Kid Mero would be parting ways, and moving forward as they will be pursuing separate creative endeavors, Showtime said in a statement.

Bodega Boys won't return
Showtime confirmed the end of Bodega Boys and also that the hosts have parted ways after a lot of speculation by their fans on their personal relationship status. The TV show had aired only 15 episodes as compared to its previous seasons, which had 50 episodes. The duo had also stopped their podcast, and the last episode of the podcast was aired in November.

Desus also confirmed the news on Twitter, as he had thanked his fans, the Bodega Hive, for being a part of his journey as a host.

However, fans of Bodega Boys do not seem to be happy at all with this breakup of their favorite hosts, Desus and Mero. And the buzz on Twitter is proof of that. However, it is unlikely that the duo will cease their presence in the public eye after having such a smashing hit with their podcast and their late-night talk show on Showtime.
