The Las Vegas Raiders shockingly benched veteran starter Derek Carr on Wednesday. Carr, the quarterback of the Las Vegas Raiders, has only missed three games in the past nine years due to injury. He would not play now for the first time due to what coach Josh McDaniels described as "offensive performance considerations," according to comments made on Wednesday.

Jarrett Stidham will start for McDaniels for the last two weeks, including Sunday's home game against the San Francisco 49ers. Carr would not play either. Chase Garbers from the practice squad will start as quarterback. Just one year after making the playoffs, the Raiders (6-9) have lost two of their last three games and are now all but out of the running.

In the last four games, Carr has not completed more than 55 per cent of his throws, and during that time, quarterback has thrown seven interceptions and six touchdown passes. According to McDaniels, nobody feels as though they have contributed enough offensively in at least a handful of these games. He does not believe anyone is very pleased with what they've accomplished since they weren't able to score enough points.

Davante Adams, a wide receiver who previously played with Carr at Fresno State, was primarily responsible for arranging a trade from the Green Bay Packers in March because he wanted to play alongside Carr. Adams stated that Carr's benching was not something that anyone in the room was really happy about. If he did not exist, he would not be here right now. He believes that everyone is aware of his feelings for him. Adams also stated that his attention is currently on the season's last two games rather than his potential postseason possibilities.
