Denver Nuggets sign Villanova's Collin Gillespie to a two-day deal
The report says that the Denver Nuggets have made some drastic moves by signing Villanova's Collin Gillespie to a two-day deal. The team also drafted two rookies, including Peyton Watson and Christian Braun.

Collin Gillespie, who is going to turn 23 in two days, is a former NCAA Champion and two-time winner of Big East Player of the Year at Villanova. In his five-year span with the Wildcats, Collin Gillespie maintained an average of 15.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game with 3.2 assists in his final season. He is proficient as a pick and roll scorer and a low risked player. During his time with the Wildcats, Gillespie consistently showed massive improvement.
The Denver Nuggets planned to draft Gillespie last week and included a seasoned guard to contribute when brought into play. In the previous season, Gillespie shot an impressive 41.5 per cent from three with a career-high of 15.6 points per game. There is no wonder if Gillespie will prove himself as a valuable player for the Nuggets as he is a floor general who can control the offence along with scoring for the team. Moreover, Gillespie is capable of competing on the defensive side of the floor.
The Nuggets are known for their wise decision-making capability at the point guard position. In fact, Gillespie is the perfect fit for their budget too. The Nuggets have had the past record of successfully signing players for the two-way contracts. Therefore, Gillespie's inclusion feels like another great success for the Nuggets. Gillespie is going to give the coverage at the point guard position. It clarifies that if the Nuggets were to make a trade, Gillespie could also be a primary backup for the place.
