Crunchyroll has obtained the rights to "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle," which will be released globally as a trilogy of films. The films mark the final arc of the popular anime series.

Distribution and Release

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the three films worldwide, except in some Asian territories and Japan. The release dates for these films have not been announced yet.

Origin and Popularity

"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is based on the manga by Gotoge Koyoharu, published under Shueisha’s Jump Comics since 2018. The manga includes 23 volumes and has sold over 150 million copies. The story follows Kamado Tanjiro, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps after his family is killed by a demon, aiming to turn his sister Nezuko back into a human.

Previous Releases and Arcs

The anime premiered in April 2019 with the "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc." This was followed by the feature film "Mugen Train" in October 2020, and the TV series arcs "Mugen Train Arc" and "Entertainment District Arc" from 2021 through 2022. In 2023, the "Swordsmith Village Arc" was released on Crunchyroll after the "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village" theatrical release. The "Hashira Training Arc" debuted in 2024, following the "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To Hashira Training" theatrical release. Ufotable handles the animation production.

The latest films, including "Mugen Train," "To the Swordsmith Village," and "To the Hashira Training," have been successful commercially and among fans. "Mugen Train" holds the record for the highest-grossing anime movie and Japanese film at the global box office, earning over $500 million. It is also the second-highest-grossing anime film in U.S. box office history.

"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Sony acquired Crunchyroll in 2021 and merged it with Funimation, keeping the Crunchyroll brand for streaming and theatrical releases.
