Democrats hold ‘Serious’ talks to replace Joe Biden; Is he on his way out?

After the first US Presidential Debate, the Democrats are in a panic mode and are seeking to replace Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election. In a move that can be considered to be a blow to the US President, some of the donors too are demanding answers and are calling for his replacement. During the debate he was found unable to articulate his views, form coherent sentences and speak clearly. Are Democrats planning to replace Biden?

Jamie Raskin who is a member of the US House of Representatives and who is a supporter of Biden said that there are talks that are going on behind the scenes to find Biden’s replacement. The Democrat who is a member of the House Oversight Committee admitted that the party did have a problem after the first debate. He was quick to add that Biden is the most popular leader even after the debacle.


The pressure is building on the party with many voters expressing their disappointment with Biden after the debate. Many of the donors too had skipped Biden’s $250,000 per head Hamptons fund raiser event during the weekend. In the latest national survey, Trump has surged past Biden in terms of popularity.

Over 50% of the Democrats still believe that he should not be replaced at the upcoming national convention. Raskin also added that Biden will continue to remain at the forefront of every campaign even if he is replaced. He said that the party is unified and will fight the elections together. Many Democrats also believe that Biden is one of the few candidates who can fight the chaos and the fascism of Trump. Biden’s family is continuing to support him and have asked him not to step down.
