Delta pilots ready to strike but no impact expected on Thanksgiving travel surge
99% of Pilots of Delta Air Lines are authorized union leaders to go on strike. However, the strike is unlikely to impact the Thanksgiving travel surge.

Meanwhile, pilots of other carriers, especially regional airlines, have secured substantial pay rise this year, thanks to the pilot shortage that airlines are suffering with. Captain Jason Ambrosi of ALPA's Delta chapter stated that their negotiations had dragged on for too long. He noted that the airline had bagged "record" revenues in the 3rd quarter. He added that their goal was to secure an "agreement" and "not to strike."
Reportedly, a strike cannot occur before the Thanksgiving travel surge because a meditation board would first weigh in on arbitration, and then there would be a 30-day "cooling off" period. A spokesperson of Delta said that their pilots were not on strike and the authorization vote would not affect their operations. The spokesperson added that only a few sections of the contract were left to be resolved, and they are confident that the parties concerned would reach a "fair and equitable" agreement.
