Deion Sanders set to take up role as next head coach of Colorado Buffaloes: Report

The University of Colorado will soon rope Deion Sanders, the current head coach of Jackson State, into Colorado Buffaloes football team. The American football coach has been planning to exit Jackson State after the SWAC game on Saturday, and a tweet has reported the same by a senior ESPN reporter Pete Thamel.

The tweet on Saturday by ESPN’s Pete Thamel reads that while the deal with Deion Sanders isn’t finalized, the coach and his associates have been spending the entire week recruiting on-field and other support staff and transfer portal players to Colorado.

Sanders, currently heading Jackstone State, is expected to join the Colorado Buffaloes after the SWAC title match on Saturday.


The confirmation comes after reports surfaced that CU Athletics director Rick George is offering Sanders the same position in Colorado Boulder as his current. After a few days, Sanders himself confirmed the report. The rumours began to float on Friday when Justin Adams, the CBS reporter, said Buffaloes were offering Sanders a whopping USD 5 million per year to head Boulder.



When it goes official, Sanders will be the 28th full-time coach in the history of the Colorado Buffaloes. All eyes are now on Jackson State’s match on Saturday. Sanders is currently heading the third season at Jackson State.
