Gameplay

Deadlock is a 6v6 hero shooter with MOBA-style elements. Players collect resources to upgrade characters and aim to destroy opponents' structures to win. The game has drawn comparisons to Overwatch and Paragon but features unique mechanics.

Recent updates to matchmaking include a unified matchmaking pool and Hero MMR. Players are matched based on their hero-specific skill level, offering fairer matchups, especially for beginners.

Hero Labs allows players to test unreleased heroes. The mode has limited hours and requires players to complete 50 matches before accessing it. Heroes in this mode are often adjusted or reworked based on feedback.

Anti-Cheat System Features

Valve added an anti-cheat system in September 2024. Players caught cheating can be banned or transformed into a powerless frog during matches. Cheating leads to bans or placement in low-priority queues.
