What changes Daylight Savings will bring in the US in 2023?
US Senate passed legislation in March 2022 which states that daylight saving time will be made permanent in the US calendar and will be applicable from 2023. Biannual traditions will be completely removed. Senate approved it unanimously which means that clocks in the US will move one hour ahead of the sun. However, some health professionals are rebelling against it saying that this will impact the overall well-being of people.The Sunshine Protection Act has not yet been passed. The bill is still in the process and it is still a proposed bill, not the passed bill. The Sunshine Protection Act is handed into the House of Representatives and is not presented to President Joe Biden. It was initially brought into existence in 2021 by Senator Macro Rubio after 2018’s Florida bill having the same name.
The Uniform Time Act of 1966 standardized the time zones and doesn’t entertain permanent daylight saving time.
