A day after its release, The Beatles' new song "Now and Then" has already made its debut at No. 37 on Billboard's Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, dated November 11.

During the tracking week from October 27 to November 2, "Now and Then" received 1.1 million audience impressions on reporting rock radio stations, all of which were logged on November 2 after the song's premiere at 10 a.m. ET. The track garnered attention on the Adult Alternative Airplay survey, where it is bubbling under with 136 spins in its first day, and on Mainstream Rock Airplay, with 27 detections.

This marks the third time a song from The Beatles has reached Billboard's rock airplay charts since their inception. "Free as a Bird" reached No. 8 on Mainstream Rock Airplay in December 1995 and appeared on the inaugural Adult Alternative Airplay tally at No. 11 in January 1996, while "Real Love" peaked at No. 16 on Adult Alternative Airplay in March 1996.

Peter Jackson has taken the position of the director of the new music video for The Beatles. The music video features never-before-seen archival footage of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the late John Lennon and George Harrison.

To complement the music video, Jackson also directed a short film chronicling the making of "Now and Then." He aimed to strike a balance between somber and lighthearted tones, resulting in a project he takes great pride in. Jackson concluded, "I have genuine pride in what we made, and I’ll cherish that for years to come."

"Now and Then" is promoted as the final Beatles song, originally recorded as a demo in the late 1970s by John Lennon and initially intended for The Beatles' Anthology series in the mid-'90s before being set aside by the surviving band members. The track was completed and released this year after new technology allowed for the extraction of Lennon's vocals from the original demo and the use of George Harrison's guitar recordings from the initial attempt to finish the song.

The first complete week of activity for "Now and Then" will be shown on Billboard's charts dated November 18, including the streaming-, airplay-, and sales-based Billboard Hot 100, which tracks activity from November 3 to November 9.
