Only ‘unhappy meals’ at Wendy’s
Wendy’s has teamed up with the hit Netflix series Wednesday to launch a limited-time gothic-themed “Meal of Misfortune” available across the US starting August 4, just ahead of the show’s Season 2 Part 1 premiere on August 6. The collaboration celebrates the dark and sassy spirit of Wednesday Addams by offering fans a unique and edgy dining experience.

The meal’s highlight is the “Dips of Dread” — four fiery mystery sauces with names like “You Can’t Hyde,” “This Will Sting,” “Grave Mistake,” and “Nowhere to Woe.” Customers receive two random sauces with each order, adding an element of surprise and challenge as they try to sample them all through multiple visits.

The Meal of Misfortune features a 10-piece chicken nugget set called “Rest in 10-Piece,” paired with small “Cursed & Crispy” fries and a small Frosty dubbed “Raven’s Blood,” which is a vanilla Frosty with a dramatic dark cherry swirl.

Every meal comes in custom-designed packaging inspired by Wednesday Addams herself, displaying the classic macabre aesthetic fans love. The campaign has been described by Lindsay Radkoski, US Chief Marketing Officer of Wendy’s, as a “match made in dark, dry-witted heaven,” since both Wendy’s and the Wednesday series are “cultural icons famous for challenging convention with wit and a bit of sass.”

To extend the experience, Wendy’s app offers an interactive game called “Escape from Wednesday’s Woe,” where users can win up to $10,000, unlock exclusive rewards, and engage in themed challenges related to the meal and the show.

The partnership also spans beyond the U.S., with the Meal of Misfortune available in Canada starting August 11, as well as in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and Guam.

Wednesday Addams herself, in a statement that captures her enigmatic persona, remarked, “Normally I'd be against this kind of capitalistic corporate synergy, but when the fast food-slinging pigtailed provocateur said I could do whatever I wanted to her customers, I couldn't resist.”

This promotion coincides perfectly with the renewed excitement over Wednesday, which has captivated audiences with its blend of dark humor, supernatural mystery, and teenage rebellion.
