In a recent interview with the Times of London, James Bond star Daniel Craig said he wanted to kill his character right after Casino Royale was released in 2006. It was his first film as James Bond. He added that he presented his idea to the producer Barbara Brocolli when they were at the Berlin premiere of the movie.
When the movie became a massive success, the producer urged the actor to continue with his on-screen character of James Bond. Clearly, the audience loved him. He later starred in four more Bond movies, up until last year.
Daniel Craig is the most recent actor to portray the iconic character on screen. However, his wish did come true last year. The last of the James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig ended with him dying. It was the first time James bond was seen dying after 25 movies.
In the movie No Time to Die, Bond is potrayed as killing himself after he gets infected with nanobots which would kill his partner and their daughter if he ever touched them. Danial exclaimed that it was tough to find a suitable ending for Bond. But in the end, he was happy with how things ended because Bond sacrificed himself for love.
