In a recent viral video that has been making the rounds on social media, a curious bear was caught on camera breaking into a house in Connecticut. The bear had a specific target in mind - the refrigerator. With remarkable skill, it managed to remove a container of leftover lasagna from the top shelf.

Surprisingly, the pilfered lasagna was not just any ordinary meal; it was actually from Helena Houlis's restaurant, Ana's Kitchen in Simsbury. The surveillance footage captured the bear, adorned with colorful ear tags and sporting a tracking device around its neck, calmly entering the kitchen and making a beeline for the fridge.

What's more, the bear stood on its hind legs, displaying impressive dexterity as it deftly opened the lower freezer drawer and carefully inspected its contents. It didn't take long for the bear to find its favorite treat – the lasagna. The bear's movements seemed almost rehearsed, making the entire operation look surprisingly effortless.

With the packet of lasagna securely clutched in its jaws, the bear demonstrated a stroke of ingenuity by using the freezer drawer as a makeshift stool to climb out of an open window.

This incident, though amusing, is not an isolated case. Barkhamsted has reported more than 137 bear sightings to the Department of Energy and Environment in Connecticut.

According to the Department of Energy and Environment, bears like the one featured in the video, sporting ear tags, cannot be categorized as "problem bears." These tags serve a vital purpose, helping authorities monitor the bear population and evaluate potential threats to humans.

In response to the widespread popularity of the video, members of the Department of Energy and Environment have offered some advice for those who might come across a bear. The key is not to approach it. Instead, it is recommended to try and leave the area or create loud noises to frighten the bear away. If the bear continues to approach, the best course of action is to wave your arms and, if available, throw sticks or rocks to deter the curious visitor.

It's a reminder that as bears increasingly venture into human territory, it's essential to coexist safely with these wild animals while ensuring their well-being and our own.
