A disturbing sexual assault case unfolded in the Bronx early Tuesday morning, September 16, 2025, involving Nicholas Dejesus, a 42-year-old man recently released on parole after over nine years in prison. Dejesus allegedly attacked a 33-year-old woman near West 230th Street in Kingsbridge, in a terrifying assault just weeks after his parole began in July 2025.

According to police reports, Dejesus approached the victim from behind at around 5:30 a.m. as she stood on Broadway. He grabbed her by the neck and threatened, “Give it to me or I’ll kill you.”

When the woman resisted, he violently punched her repeatedly in the face, causing significant injuries and dizzyness before raping her. Following the assault, he forced her to walk south along Broadway, when he again demanded to have sex with her. This time, she managed to flee into a nearby Dunkin Donuts where employees immediately called 911.

In a sick gesture, after the attack, Dejesus gave the victim his phone number, telling her to call him "Romeo". However, the number helped police to track down DeJesus at his Bronx residence, 5 miles north of the crime scene, police said.

First responders transported the victim to a hospital where she received treatment for injuries and cuts on her mouth and cheek. Police arrested him approximately 12 hours after the incident, and he was arraigned on charges of rape, sexual abuse, assault, and harassment at Bronx Criminal Court.
