Creator of 'Sex and the City' unveils new unscripted series, know what will the series bring

American writer and journalist Candace Bushnell, who wrote the beloved classic "Sex and the City," is preparing to launch an unscripted series called "Is There Still Sex in the City" that will offer a new take on dating in a nostalgic yet modern way.

The show, titled "Is There Still Sex in The City," will follow four friends who are in their fifties as they embark on a "love do-over" in which they leave behind their hectic city lives and move to a "dating utopia," navigating the immersive dating scene.

"They will share a comfortable country chateau where they can choose from a variety of men every episode. They will get to play with the boy toys, try out an older player, get swept off their feet by the wealthy guys, and even get to flirt with their ideal partner. Who will ultimately win their hearts, though, and will our women be able to revive sex in the city? glances at the logline.


Next month, Bunim/Murray, a branch of Banijay Americas, will present the new Bushnell-led series to prospective purchasers.

According to Bushnell, the fifty-something women will be the new dating demographic and she knows this very well as she is one of them.

“Over the decades, I’ve dated men of all ages and I’m so excited to be working on a show that combines my passion for relationships with the chance to help women, like me, navigate a love do-over,” she added.

Known for being the real-life Carrie Bradshaw, Bushnell created the characters as a pen name for her 1996 book. The novel served as the basis for the much-watched six-season run HBO series of the same name, besides two films and a revival called "And Just Like That."
