Couple kept chopped-up body in fridge for four months. Here is what NYPD has said

The severed head and dismembered body were found inside the Nostrand Avenue apartment in New York. His body was chopped up and stored in a fridge for four months.

An accused sex offender and drug dealer was reportedly killed inside the fourth-floor apartment in New York, his body was chopped up and stashed in a Flatbush fridge for four months. The man had a string of child molestation busts on his rap sheet. Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that Kawsheen Gelzer had been on the state sex offender registry since he was convicted of molesting a 12-year-old boy in 2005.

Gelzer served years in prison

According to media reports, Gelzer has at least five other arrests on his rap sheet, including serving two years in state prison on a first-degree sexual abuse conviction before he was released from an upstate prison in 2012.

According to the New York Post, Heather Stines, the woman living in the apartment, claimed to police that her jailed husband killed Gelzer in September and stuck his body parts inside the fridge after getting into a beef over drugs. Stines was taken into custody and sent to Brookdale Hospital for psychiatric observation following the gruesome discovery.

However, Stines and her husband Nicholas McGee, who is currently jailed in Chesapeake, Virginia on an identity fraud case, have not been charged in Gelzer’s disappearance and death.

12 bags of evidence collected

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny told reporters that policemen responded to the fourth-floor apartment after getting a tip about a body inside the home and found the dismembered body in a fridge that was sealed with tape. Crime scene detectives stacked nearly a dozen bags of evidence outside the apartment as part of their investigation.
