Popular country music star Wynonna Judd who was part of a singing duo with her mother, Naomi Judd opened up about the death of her mother, a month after her tragic demise. Naomi Judd’s death at the age of 76 was announced on the 30th of April. In a statement posted on Instagram, Ashley Judd wrote that she and her sister Wynonna “lost their beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.”

Almost a month after her mother’s demise. Wynonna poured her heart out on how she feels after losing her mother, on her official Instagram handle with a heartfelt note. The singer posted an image of herself performing alongside the caption, “Checking in. There is so much happening in the world right now” She mentions in her note how she lost her mother to suicide and how she feels that she will never be able to fully accept and surrender to the truth about the way her mother left.

Breaking down into tears while writing the note she says that this cannot be how the Judd’s story ends. She continued her note by saying that she would have to continue to show up for herself first and break the cycle of addiction and family dysfunction so that she could be a healthier grandparent to her first grandchild, Kaliyah.

She explained that although she knows it is a program that requires taking simple steps, those steps are not easy to take at times. The star stated that she had made a promise to do the right thing and continue with her ongoing work as a tribute to her mother.

The star promised her fans that she will continue to fight for herself, her faith, for her family and will continue to show up and sing. She ended her note by thanking her fans for their continuous love and support and encouraged all of them to “Check-in more often.”
