Controversial Muslim cleric who praised Iran and refused to call Hezbollah a terrorist organization tapped to deliver benediction at Donald Trump’s inauguration

In a pretty recent development it has been known that a controversial Muslim cleric who had eventually praised Iran and refused to call Hezbollah a terrorist organization has been now tapped to deliver benediction at the inauguration of US Preside...

US President- elect Donald Trump
Husham Al-Husainy, who is an Iraqi-American imam from Michigan has been eventually selected to deliver a benediction at US President- elect Donald Trump's inauguration on the date of January 20 of the year 2025, reported Fox News.

According to Fox News, Husham Al-Husainy actually oversees the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center located in Dearborn and has previously expressed support for US President- elect Donald Trump while citing a belief that he aligns more closely with the values of the Bible, Torah and Quran. Adding onto that, his selection has raised several eyebrows due to his controversial history which included praising of Iran and then refusing to label Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

In an interview of the year 2007 with Fox News's Sean Hannity, Husham Al-Husainy avoided directly calling Hezbollah a terrorist group while stating that Hezbollah is simply a Lebanese organization and referenced about its biblical meaning, asserted Fox News. This stance has actually drawn severe criticism from various groups while including pro-Israel advocates who label him as a ‘radical antisemitic’ figure.

The invitation of Husham Al-Husainy to the inauguration comes amidst significant political shifts specifically in Dearborn which has a large Muslim population. Many Arab voters in the area supported US President- elect Donald Trump over US Vice President Kamala Harris in protest against the Democratic Party's handling of issues related to the Israel-Hamas conflict, noted Fox News.
