Contrary to popular belief, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have been dating for a lot longer

Selena Gomez, a former Disney Channel star, disclosed that she has been dating music producer Benny Blanco for the past six months.

The disclosure was made by Gomez in response to an Instagram remark about her connection to Blanco.

A critic remarked, "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your boyfriend lol-it should be special between you two only." Gomez had just chastised a number of trolls who were upset over their romantic relationship.


To which Selena Gomez replied by saying she was not mad. Also it's six months. And the day I die I will always take a stand for my family and friends, she added.

Gomez defended her new partner in another tweet, stating that Blanco, real name Benjamin Joseph Levin, "is my absolute everything in my heart."

Since they first became acquainted years ago, Blanco has also been friends with Gomez's ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.

Gomez shared a picture of herself on Thursday that showed her head resting on Blanco's shoulder, confirming their relationship.

The former cast member of "Wizards of Waverly Place" then jotted down "Facts" in the Instagram post's comments, speculating as to whether or not the couple was together. Later on, she showed off a diamond "B" band on her finger.
