Comic-Con 2022: Ironheart Armor MK I design revealed. Here's what you may want to know

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) revealed the first look of Riri Williams’s Ironheart Armor at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022. The character is expected to make her way to MCU via Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is scheduled to release in November 2022.

Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, is played by Domonique Thorne, who was shocked when she was offered the role. In an interview, Thorne said that she was in Delaware when she received the offer over a phone call, which she described as the best phone call she could’ve received. The actress, a newcomer to Marvel studios, has also said that the story mattered the most to her.

The first look of Ironheart MK I design was tweeted in Funko form. Riri Williams builds the Mark I Armor with materials on hand, similar to what Tony Stark did while building Iron Man’s armour. The character can be seen equipped with four boosters and a repulsive cannon on her right arm.



Thorne will also lead the Ironheart’s own Disney+ series, expected to release late next year. Riri Williams is a teenage engineering student attending the MIT following her father’s death. Using the material sneaked away from the campus, Riri designs and builds an armour, which helps her fly. In the comic books world, Tony Stark meets the 15-year-old girl and helps her become a superhero.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be the sequel to Black Panther (2018), which starred the late Chadwick Boseman. Directed by Ryan Coogler, it will be the 30th MCU movie. As per reports, the movie will showcase the leaders of Wakanda fight to safeguard their nation, following the death of King T’Challa. The film will have Letitia Wright (Shuri, Princess of Wakanda) in the lead. Wakanda Forever will also star Winston Duke, Danai Gurira and Florence Kasumba.
