Comedian Rickey Smiley’s son Brandon Smiley passes away at 32

On Sunday, January 29, the radio host announced the terrible news on Instagram.

I just received some horrible news this morning. In order to travel to Birmingham, I'm in route to the airport. He stated in the video, "I just want everyone to pray for me and pray for our family."

"This morning, my son Brandon Smiley died away. Please offer prayers for my daughter Storm's mother Brenda, my son's siblings, and myself; I'm OK.


He said, "Now I know what my granddaddy went through and why he felt the way he felt." I find it ironic that I am going through what my grandparents did because my granddaddy went through it with my father.

The presenter, the actual name Broderick Dornell, received encouragement from other famous people.

Kandi Burruss, a member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, wrote: "Oh no! My condolences for your loss. Tamar Braxton, an American singer, said, "I'm really sorry, friend."

Brandon Smiley, who had 29K followers on Instagram, was an actor and comedian like his father.

His daughter Storm is three years old, and he frequently shared amusing content and family images on social media.

The cause of Brandon Smiley's death has not yet been determined.

Rickey, 54, said in July 2020 that his youngest daughter Aaryn was shot allegedly in a road rage incident. Rickey described how he desperately sought direct flights to Houston but was unable to do so because of the coronavirus pandemic restrictions on travel. Instead, he intended to take the car to Dallas and then board a subsequent flight.

Then, he told his co-hosts, "She's weeping, she's afraid, and I can't get to her."

Rickey posted pictures of Aaryn on Facebook after the performance and stated that she was "still in surgery," before requesting "prayers and support."

He returned a little while later with good news and said, "My daughter made it out of her procedure." She's doing wonderful! I appreciate your prayers.
