Columbus Marathon 2022: Start Time, route map, live stream, prize money, all you need to know

The Columbus Marathon has returned to raise funds for Nationwide Children's Hospital. We explain how to watch, what the course looks like, and who the favorites are.

The 42nd Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon is returning. The event follows a cloverleaf pattern and is a Boston Marathon qualifying event. Due to COVID-19, it was cancelled in 2020, but it returned last year with over 8,000 runners and raised more than $1 million for Nationwide Children's Hospital.
More than 12,000 runners are scheduled to compete in this year's competition.

Time to begin

The corrals will be open at 6 a.m.


The wheelchair division begins racing at 7:25 a.m. ET, while the marathon begins at 7:30 a.m. ET.

What to look for

The race will not have special live coverage.

The race begins at 311 W. Long Street, North Bank Park.

The field goes four miles along Broad Street before returning and passing Nationwide Children's Hospital at the ninth mile.
Miles 11–13 follow High Street through Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights before returning to North Bank Park.

Weather

The temperature will be around 41 degrees when the race begins, with a "Real Feel" of around 40 degrees. There is no chance of participation, and the weather should be generally sunny for the duration of the event.

The temperature will be in the low 50s when the first runners cross the finish line.
