Cody Bellinger belts career-first three homers as Yankees crush Cubs
Cody Bellinger showcased a remarkable performance against his former team, the Chicago Cubs, hitting three home runs and driving in six runs as the Yankees secured an 11-0 victory. Rodón delivered a dominant outing, pitching eight shutout innings,...

Facing his former team for the first time since being traded to New York in December 2024, Bellinger put on a show. He homered in the third inning off starter Chris Flexen, went deep again in the fifth against reliever Caleb Thielbar, and launched his third in the eighth off Jordan Wicks - all with a runner on base.
His performance marked the 40th three-homer game in Yankees regular-season history, making him the 29th Yankee to achieve the feat. It was also the third such game for the team this season, setting a new club record.
Carlos Rodón (10–6) delivered a dominant outing, ending a three-start winless stretch. The lefty allowed just four hits over eight shutout innings, striking out eight and walking one on a season-high 109 pitches. It was the longest outing by a Yankee since Gerrit Cole’s two-hit shutout in April 2023.
Anthony Volpe chipped in an RBI double, Paul Goldschmidt collected three hits and two RBIs, and J.C. Escarra added a run-scoring single as the Yankees racked up 15 hits on the night.
Flexen (5–1) gave up three runs on three hits across four innings in his first start of the season after 17 relief appearances. He struck out two and walked three in a 68-pitch outing.
