Coco Gauff steals spotlight at Sky vs Liberty WNBA game - WATCH

Tennis sensation Coco Gauff stole the spotlight during the WNBA clash between the New York Liberty and the Chicago Sky at Barclays Center, New York on Tuesday.

The newly-crowned French Open champion made a surprise courtside appearance, drawing cheers from fans and adding a touch of star power to the high-energy matchup.

The New York crowd erupted the moment Coco Gauff's presence was announced and shown on the big screen. The overwhelming cheers echoed throughout the arena, creating a truly electric atmosphere. In response to the warm reception, Gauff smiled, waved and made a heart gesture with her hands, acknowledging the fans' love and support.



Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty with 23 points while Breanna Stewart contributed 18 points in their 85-66 win against the Sky at home. With this win, Liberty maintained their perfect record (9-0) and improved to 3-0 in WNBA Commissioner Cup matches.

Ionescu displayed remarkable efficiency, converting 9 of 14 field goal attempts, while also providing seven assists and securing four steals.

Stewart enhanced her performance with seven rebounds and five assists, as the Liberty achieved a 47.9 percent shooting success rate from the field.

Kennedy Burke delivered an impressive bench performance, scoring 15 points including a perfect three-for-three from beyond the arc. The Liberty, who had previously defeated Chicago (2-6) on May 22 with a score of 99-74, secured their second victory against them this season.

Nyara Sabally, making her first WNBA start in place of the injured Jonquel Jones (right ankle), contributed nine points to the Liberty's victory.

For Sky, Angel Reese delivered a season-best performance with 17 points, shooting 8 of 13 from the field, whilst also securing 11 rebounds.
