Cobra Kai season 5 premiered on Netflix in September 2022 and it has been confirmed that the show will be returning for season 6. However, Cobra Kai season 6 will be mark the conclusion of Cobra Kai.

Cobra Kai, a continuation of The Karate Kid movie franchise, originally premiered on YouTube but gained even more popularity after moving to Netflix for its third season. The series takes place 34 years after the events of the original Karate Kid and follows the reigniting of the rivalry between Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso.



Hayden Schlossberg recently spoke to Deadline about the possibility of a sixth season of Cobra Kai and stated that they have an end goal in mind for the series. The creators are enjoying making the show and they will stop before it becomes tiring, as they have a few more seasons already planned out. However, in a tweet from 2020, co-creator Jon Hurwitz stated that they would like to do at least six seasons.

Cobra Kai Season 6 release date on Netflix is not yet confirmed. Historically, the show had a semi-regular release schedule with three seasons released in a span of 20 months, starting with Season 3 in January 2021 and most recently Season 5 in September 2022. However, as the renewal and production for Season 6 is yet to start, it is likely that the release date will be pushed to late 2023 or 2024.
