Cloudflare down again: When will the services be restored? Here's what the company said about the outage

Users across the globe are reporting connectivity problems on December 5, 2025, as Cloudflare, one of the internet’s key infrastructure providers , confirmed it is experiencing “internal service degradation.

Several users reported encountering a “500 internal server error” message across multiple web pages, preventing them from accessing the expected content. Among the affected sites was Down Detector, the widely used platform that monitors and reports global service outages.

Internet services are gradually stabilising after the widespread Cloudflare service degradation, with several major productivity and social platforms, including Canva, LinkedIn, Quillbot and Groww — now restored. Downdetector has also come back online, enabling users to monitor outages once again.


However, the recovery remains uneven. Entertainment and gaming platforms continue to experience notable disruptions, with users reporting persistent access issues on Crunchyroll and Fortnite.

According to the Cloudflare status page, the last update said that a scheduled maintenance is underway at the DTW (Detroit) data center from 09:00 to 13:00 UTC.

During this window, traffic is being rerouted, which may cause increased latency for users in the affected region. Cloudflare has also advised PNI/CNI customers to expect failover to alternate routes, as certain network interfaces at the Detroit facility may temporarily become unavailable. Updates will be issued as the maintenance progresses.
