This special encore presentation comes on the heels of "Oppenheimer" achieving an impressive global box office gross of over $183 million on Imax screens, positioning its status as the fourth highest-grossing Imax release of all time. The film, a World War II-era biopic, stars Cillian Murphy in the role of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, renowned as the "father of the atomic bomb" for his pivotal involvement in the Manhattan Project.

The re-release coincides with a relatively calm period for the box office, as there are no significant film premieres scheduled for the approaching weekend. The Imax screens will predominantly feature Disney's superhero spectacle, "The Marvels," upon its theatrical debut on November 10th.

Oppenheimer features a star-studded cast including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Florence Pugh. The encore screening will specifically target the top-performing venues worldwide, contributing significantly to Imax's record-breaking summer in 54 countries and territories, including the United States and China.

The cinematography for Oppenheimer was executed by Hoyte van Hoytema using Imax cameras, employing a blend of Imax 65mm and 65mm large-format film, which also featured the use of Imax black and white analog photography.

Christopher Nolan is renowned for his inclination towards film over digital cinematography, as well as his adoption of Imax cameras and technologies. Derived from Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin's 2005 book "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer," Oppenheimer is co-produced by Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.
