Although Christmas is celebrated on December 25, people prepare for the festival way before the date. If you are also one of those eagerly waiting for Christmas 2022, here are some interesting facts you need to know.
Christmas 2022 falls on Sunday. Since this year's December 25 falls on Sunday, the public holiday for Christmas 2022 will be on December 26, which will be on Monday. And Christmas Eve will fall on December 24, which is on Saturday.
As per Britannica, the English term 'Christmas' is relatively new in origin as it was previously referred to as 'Yule'. The holiday is known by different names in different countries. While it is known by the name 'Noel' in the French language, it is called 'Natale' and 'Navidad' in Italian and Spanish, respectively. The festival of Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.
However, the exact date of birth of Jesus is not precise. As per History.com, it was Pope Julius I who chose December 25 as the date of the Feast of the Nativity.
