Chris Brown vented his ire about the American Music Awards scrapping his planned Michael Jackson tribute. Thriller, Michael Jackson's legendary record, was released 40 years ago in November.

The American Music Awards cancelled Brown's planned performance in honour the King of Pop a few days before the ceremony without providing a reason, and his 124 million Instagram followers are furious.

Brown wrote on Instagram that it would have been the AMA performance, but they cancelled him for reasons “unknown”. According to rumours, Brown would have opened the Tribute with "Under the Influence," one of his own songs. But after that, he would have transitioned into a Jackson tribute. Chris Brown was rumoured to have imitated several of the well-known dance sequences that Michael Jackson turned into classics, including those from "Wanna Be Starting' Somethin' "Beat It," Billie Jean," and also the renowned album's lead song, "Thriller."

Although Brown was not present at the award ceremony, Kelly Rowland, a former member of Destiny's Child, acknowledged him by accepting an award on his behalf.

The American Music Awards producer, Dick Clark Productions, said in a statement to Puck News that live performances change all the time; it's the nature of this business. This man has earned his fans' confidence back, paid his dues, and still sells out concerts. They're really rude not to let him perform.

The user continued and stated that he was carrying R&B. It seems as though he was powerless. He has unmatched talent. No one is interacting with Chris. He still has to work three times as hard as the average person to obtain barely half? The user also stated that, as they can all see, Chris would have lit the stage on fire. He addressed Chris and said thank you for persevering despite what the music business tried to do and writing him off.
