Chipotle on Thursday announced the temporary addition of Chipotle Honey Chicken to the menu in its restaurants across North America and Europe. The protein option was first introduced by the chain at locations in Nashville and Sacramento last year on an experimental basis. It emerged as the brand's best-selling limited-time offering after the launch, Chipotle noted in an official release.

Chipotle Honey Chicken will be available for a limited time at all Chipotle restaurants across the US, Canada, and the UK beginning Friday (March 7), the company said. The latest menu item will be available for both in-restaurant and digital orders, it added. It will debut in France and Germany on Wednesday (March 12), fast food chain informed.

The brand described its latest limited-time offering as a bold new item that "perfectly balances unique heat from chipotle peppers and a touch of sweet from pure wildflower honey". "Chipotle Honey Chicken was our top performing limited time offer in test markets and we're excited for guests to taste this bold, new protein with their go-to order," Chipotle Chief Brand Officer Chris Brandt stated.

Chipotle Honey Chicken: How it is made

Detailing its preparation, Chipotle said the Chipotle Honey Chicken is made using fresh chicken hot off the grill. It is then seasoned with savory Mexican spices. The next step in the process involves the chicken being marinated with seared and smoked chipotle peppers and a touch of pure honey. The Chipotle Honey Chicken will also give the chain's customers to customise their burritos, salad, tacos, and quesadillas with a touch of sweetness.

To make it easy for its customers to try out the new protein, the company will be featuring the 'Most Popular Chipotle Honey Chicken Bowl' on its official app, and websites chipotle.com and chipotle.ca.

The brand also announced early access to the new protein option for Chipotle Reward members on the three platforms. The company also shared a list of popular selections for pairing up with Chipotle Honey Chicken. These fan-favourite options are white rice, black beans, fajita veggies, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce.
