Luxeed R7 EREV from China which is an extended range electric SUV and is comparable to the BMW X6 got launched in the month of December, reported Interesting Engineering.

According to Interesting Engineering, this model actually represents a significant collaboration between Huawei and Chery while Chery on one hand, handled the platform development and manufacturing and Huawei on the other hand actually focused on software and sales. The R7 is reportedly available in two variants namely Pro which is being priced at $34,250 and Max at the price of $39,700 with the Max variant featuring renowned and advanced Lidar technology.

One of the key highlights of the Luxeed R7 is the third generation Qiankun Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) of Huawei which eventually includes innovative features like mapless intelligent driving and advanced collision avoidance, asserted Interesting Engineering.


The vehicle is said to be powered by a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine that charges its 36 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery which enables an electric only range of approximately 124 miles whereas the total range goes up to 975 miles.

The modern design of Luxeed R7 actually features slender headlights and retractable door handles while enhancing its aesthetic appeal, noted Interesting Engineering. With a pretty strong market response which is over 11,000 units sold in the month of November this year, the Luxeed R7 EREV actually aims to set new standards in the Chinese automotive market for electric vehicles.
