Children of Pennsylvania daycare centre admitted to hospital after Carbon Monoxide leak incident

More than 20 children and teaching assistants at a daycare centre in Allentown, Pennsylvania, were evacuated and admitted to the hospital following a dangerous gas leak.

Children and teaching assistants at a daycare centre in Pennsylvania were evacuated and rushed to hospitals immediately after a reported carbon monoxide gas leak. The centre's name is Happy Smiles Learning Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

A total of 27 people, including children and teaching assistants, have been admitted to four nearby hospitals. Until now, there has been no news of casualties; everyone is stable.

Authorities announced the gas leak accident as a level 1 mass casualty as there are warnings that the number of casualties could overwhelm medical responders.


Reports said that quite a few children felt unwell, and one became unconscious after the leak at Happy Smiles Learning Center, located on Wabash Street, on Tuesday morning.

Immediately after receiving a call for emergency medical help, ambulances, fire departments, and other responders immediately attend to the incident. Also, a nearby daycare centre offered shelter to the sufferers.
