Chicago winter storm update: How many inches of snow to expect and when it will hit

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the entire Chicago area, affecting Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Will, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, LaSalle, Lake, and McHenry counties in Illinois, as well as Lake and Porter counties in Indiana. The advisory will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until 3 a.m. on Thursday.Meanwhile, a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Racine and Kenosha counties in Wisconsin, lasting from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until 3 a.m. on Thursday.
In northern Indiana, several counties, including DeKalb, eastern St. Joseph, and Elkhart, have been placed under a Winter Storm Watch until 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Meteorologist Tracy Butler has warned that the main snowstorm is expected to arrive between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., with the heaviest snowfall likely between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The evening commute is expected to face the most significant disruptions.
