Daniel Kyri shared news of his return through an Instagram post on August 4. He posted a selfie from the set with co-stars Jocelyn Hudon and Hanako Greensmith. He captioned the post, “Back! For a limited time only.”

In another image, Kyri posed with David Eigenberg, Christian Stolte, Miranda Rae Mayo, and new cast member Brandon Larracuente.


Kyri, who is 30 years old, had not been expected to appear in Season 14 after news broke that he would not continue as a regular cast member.

Jake Lockett, who played firefighter Sam Carver since 2022, confirmed in April that he would not return as a full-time cast member.

He wrote on Instagram, “While I don’t exactly know what the future looks like, I do know that it won’t be exactly what it was and I am going to miss the hell out of that.”

He added, “It’s been an honor bringing Sam to life and to every one of you, thank you for the love and support over the past three years.”

Chicago Fire Season 14 New Cast Updates: Showrunner Teases Major Cast Turnover

Showrunner Andrea Newman has revealed that Chicago Fire will face significant changes in Season 14.

“We’re going to have a lot of turnover,” Newman told TVLine in May. “And a lot of craziness going on in the CFD from the top, where people are being cut and moved, and everything’s going to get shaken up next season.”

In another interview with TV Insider, Newman added, “There’s nobody safe in this shakeup. Next season is going to be about how the s*** really hits the fan once that mandate comes down.”

She said the show will explore how the team can hold together as a family while dealing with external changes.

One Chicago New Season Release Date

One Chicago, which includes Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D., will return to NBC on Wednesday, October 1.
