Fluminense and Chelsea are set to clash at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Tuesday, with a coveted spot in the FIFA Club World Cup final - and a minimum of $30 million in prize money - on the line. The winner could take home as much as $40 million if they go on to lift the trophy.

Fluminense have been one of the surprise packages of the tournament, led by veteran defender Thiago Silva, who at 40 is defying age with commanding performances.

The Brazilian side impressed in a stunning win over Inter Milan in the Round of 16 and followed it up with a solid victory against Al Hilal in the quarterfinals.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have already had a string of battles with Brazilian opposition - falling to Flamengo in the group stage before bouncing back to edge past Palmeiras in the quarters.

Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s youthful squad is showing real promise, especially in attack. The addition of Joao Pedro has further strengthened their forward options, and while their finishing hasn’t always been clinical, their overall balance and control in the knockout rounds have been encouraging.

Interestingly, this will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides.
