According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Vialli’s mother, Maria Terea, has also arrived in England to be by his side.

Vialli was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017. He has already undergone two courses of chemotherapy. In a statement made by him, he wrote that after negotiating with his oncologists, he has decided to focus on treatment. Their goal is to use his psycho-physical energies to heal his body and overcome the disease.

Vialli joined the team as the head of the delegation to work with his close friend, Roberto Mancini. They both celebrated Italy’s win at the Euro 2020 at Wembley.

The former Sampdoria striker won the scudetto, European Cup-Winners’ cup and three Italian Cups with the team. He went on to Juventus to claim the Serie A title, the Champions League, a UEFA cup and an Italian Cup.
