The college advised everyone to stay indoors, lock doors and shelter in place.The initial announcement was followed by an update. Authorities instructed the campus community to remain in lockdown until further notice. They advised anyone with medical emergencies or personal crises to contact campus security.
At 12:04 p.m., the college confirmed the lockdown was still in effect. Emergency services, including at least five police vehicles and two firetrucks, are stationed outside the campus on Amnicola Highway in Hamilton County. A thorough search of the campus is underway.
