Some American teenagers have a chance to pocket $125 in free money this year, thanks to a limited-time Chase Bank promotion. The offer is aimed at families opening a Chase High School Checking account, but there’s a catch: a few specific steps must be completed before the April 15, 2026 cutoff.

For parents helping their teen open a first bank account, this promotion may be worth a closer look, especially as everyday costs continue to rise and many families are looking for small financial wins.

What is Chase offering teens right now?

Chase is currently running a promotion that pays eligible teens a $125 bonus when they open a Chase High School Checking account by April 15, 2026. The offer is available nationwide and follows a familiar model the bank uses throughout the year to attract new customers.

To get started, a parent or legal guardian must visit a Chase branch with their teen. Chase has more than 5,300 branches across the U.S., and the account must be opened in person.

Teens are required to bring two forms of identification, and the parent or guardian must be present, as they will be listed as a co-owner on the account.

What steps must be completed to earn the $125?

Opening the account alone isn’t enough. After the account is set up, on or before April 15, the teen must complete five qualifying transactions within 60 days.

These qualifying transactions include debit card purchases, Zelle transfers, ACH Credits, Chase QuickDeposit, and online bill payments. ACH Credits are direct deposits initiated by a payer, such as wages from a part-time job, tax refunds, or government benefits.

Once all five qualifying transactions are completed within the 60-day window, Chase will automatically post the $125 bonus to the account within 15 days, as per a report by The US Sun.

What else does the Chase High School Checking account include?

Beyond the bonus, the account comes with several features designed for younger customers. There’s no monthly service fee, which allows teens to manage money without worrying about recurring charges.

The account also includes a debit card that can be added to a digital wallet, making everyday purchases easier. Zelle connectivity allows teens to send and receive money quickly from friends or family, while account alerts help track balances, payments, and activity in real time.

Chase says the account is intended to help teens “build good money habits with their own debit card.”

How should families safely contact their bank?

With bank scams becoming more common, Chase reminds customers to be cautious when reaching out for support. Visiting a branch in person remains the safest option, though customers may be directed to a customer care phone line, as per a report by The US Sun.

To avoid fraud, families should only use phone numbers provided directly by bank representatives or listed on the bank’s official website. If a bank appears to contact you unexpectedly, it’s best to verify the issue by calling a known, legitimate number.

Scammers often pose as bank employees to steal personal information, especially by creating a sense of urgency.

Are there other Chase cash offers available?

In addition to the teen promotion, Chase is offering up to $3,000 in free cash to customers who open a Chase Private Client Checking account by April 15. This offer requires an in-branch visit and a qualifying transfer of new money or securities within 45 days.

Chase has also rolled out bonuses for certain credit cards, while competitors like Wells Fargo are offering cash incentives of their own, as per a report by The US Sun.
