Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods, has qualified for the US Junior Amateur Championship for the second year running, securing his spot through a playoff victory in Coral Springs, Florida. The 16-year-old will now compete in the 36-hole strokeplay ...

Competing in a qualifier at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Coral Springs, Florida, Charlie secured his place in the prestigious event through a 3-for-1 playoff win.
Next up for the 16-year-old is the tournament’s 36-hole strokeplay qualifier, where 264 players will compete for one of 64 spots in the matchplay bracket.
Charlie, who bogeyed his final hole, dropping into a three-way playoff for the final qualifying spot, held his nerve and won the playoff.
The US Junior Amateur, which Tiger won three straight times, is slated to be held from July 21 to 26 at Trinity Forest in Dallas.
Charlie will be aiming to improve on his showing at the 2024 US Junior Amateur, where he missed the cut after two tough rounds of stroke play at Oakland Hills. He posted scores of 82 and 80 to finish 22 over par, falling short of the matchplay stage.
With anticipation building around Charlie, the rising young golfer isn’t just looking to honour his family’s storied legacy, but he is determined to chart his own course and make a lasting impact on the game on his own terms.
