Charlie Puth asks fans to stop throwing things on stage; List of artists affected by such acts

Singer Kelsea Ballerini is the latest artist to be hit with an object while performing on stage, when a fan threw a bracelet at her, hitting her in the eye. Kelsea posted on social media about the incident, saying, "It more so just scared me than hurt me."

"We all have triggers and layers of fears way deeper than what is shown, and that’s why I walked offstage to calm down and make sure myself, band and crew, and the crowd all felt safe to continue," she added.

This was the second incident after singer Pink recently witnessed a fan throwing her mother’s ashes at her concert.


Singer Charlie Puth has requested fans to stop throwing things on stage, saying it is not only disrespectful but also dangerous.

"This trend of throwing things at performers while they are on stage must come to an end. (Bebe, Ava, AND NOW Kelsea Ballerini…) It’s so disrespectful and very dangerous. Please just enjoy the music I beg of you,” he tweeted.

Just days later in the same month, singer Ava Max was slapped by a man on stage at her concert in Los Angeles. "He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again (angry emojis). Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!" the singer wrote on social media.

During her BST Hyde Park 2023 show in London, Pink was taken aback when a female fan tossed her mother’s ashes on stage, even as the singer was performing. "This is your mom?" Pink asked the fan. “I don’t know how I feel about this," she. At another concert, Pink was handed a wheel of cheese.

Singer Harry Styles was hit in the crotch with sunglasses by a fan. He was also hit in the eye with Skittles candy, and someone else threw flower stems on his face while he was performing at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium for his ‘Love On Tour’.

After the Bebe Rexha incident, singer Kelly Clarkson felt that the fan who threw the phone at Bebe should "let her throw a telephone at his face, then he can experience that fun". Clarkson was speaking to Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show when she talked about her vulnerability at shows.

"One time I was singing at this thing and my eyes were closed, so you’re even more vulnerable, and this person on live TV – on this show oversees – rushed to the stage and came up and hugged me, put their arms around me,” she said, adding, “It was very scary because at that moment I realized how vulnerable I was. I never thought like that before.”
