Charlie Kirk, Zohran Mamdani, KPop Demon Hunters and Shedeur Sanders among Google's top trending searches of 2025 - Check out the top 10 list of most-searched trends in different categories

Google’s Year in Search for 2025 revealed that Zohran Mamdani, Erika Kirk and Netflix’s hit 'KPop Demon Hunters' were among the year’s most talked-about topics, reported USA Today. Topping the US trending searches was Charlie Kirk, 31, who was assassinated on September 10 while speaking to students at Utah Valley University. 'KPop Demon Hunters' placed second, followed by Labubus - the monster-themed collectible dolls created by Hong Kong illustrator Kasing Lung.

Other major search trends included the historic government shutdown, President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act and renewed tariff debates. According to USA Today, Google noted that the data, collected from January 1 to November 25, reflects emerging trends rather than the overall most-searched topics, which remain relatively consistent year to year.

By looking at top trending searches, we’re identifying topics that saw huge spikes in 2025, which means they’re unique to this year compared to last year, Google explained as quoted by USA Today.


Shedeur Sanders has become one of the most searched public figures in the United States, according to Google Trends - surpassing NFL star Patrick Mahomes and even matching historical names like Pope Leo XIV, reported Marca.

The Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback is currently the most searched athlete in the country and ranks sixth overall among public figures, placing ahead of notable personalities such as Bonnie Blue, Karoline Leavitt, Andy Byron and Jimmy Kimmel.
