Charlie Kirk killer suspect spotted hobbling towards Utah Valley Campus; FBI continues manhunt amid released footage

Newly obtained footage appears to show the person of interest in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk walking towards Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on the morning of September 10, 2025. TMZ released a video showing a man dressed in all black, hobbling down a residential street at 11:49 am, just minutes before the shooting, which occurred at 12:29 pm.

The individual matches the FBI’s description of the suspect. Law enforcement sources suggest the unusual gait may be due to concealing a high-powered bolt-action rifle, a Mauser .30-06, that was later recovered in a wooded area near the campus.

The footage shows students calmly walking away from the area shortly after the attack, while the suspect appears to run through a backyard, away from the paved road. Law enforcement has not confirmed that this footage depicts the exact suspect, but the timing and location make it a significant piece of evidence.



Just six minutes after the shooting at 12:29 PM, as the campus was being evacuated, students can be seen walking calmly in the opposite direction. In the background, however, a person dressed in black is visible sprinting through an unpaved area behind some homes, separate from the main road.

Another video captures law enforcement searching a wooded area that closely resembles the location where the individual was seen running after the shooting. The FBI has confirmed that the suspect’s rifle was recovered in a wooded area, though it has not been verified whether this is the exact location shown in the footage.

The FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety have canvassed the neighborhood for additional surveillance footage, and several videos have been submitted to authorities. Additional photos of the person of interest have also been released to aid the ongoing manhunt.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Authorities continue to search for a person of interest in connection with the killing, offering a $100,000 reward for information. The FBI has released surveillance images and recovered the suspected weapon as the investigation remains active.
