Charli XCX flashes her $30k engagement ring ahead of an epic star-laden Italian wedding with drummer George Daniel

After Charli XCX's wedding ring surfaced for the first time after tying the knot on July 19, 2025, they may have been planning a secret wedding in Italy. According to a PEOPLE source, the intimate celebration will be followed by a second, much larger wedding in Sicily, Italy.

She got engaged to The 1975 drummer George Daniel in November 2023. Paparazzi photos revealed her jewelry as she stepped out of her wedding ceremony at London’s Hackney Town Hall with her husband. The "Apple" singer, 32, and Daniel, 35, were married in a ceremony attended by about 20 close friends and family members.

The British pop star opted for a traditional round solitaire diamond engagement ring, paired with a chunkier, modern wedding band.

The secret wedding plan in Italy

The couple kept things low-key for their official wedding but had bigger plans.

According to the people source, they “wanted the ceremony to feel special and personal, but not over-the-top.” The insider added, “They danced all night. They have such playful energy as a couple. It was the most fun celebration.”

The wedding in London marks just the beginning. The couple will soon host a second, much larger event in Sicily, Italy.

“They’ve always dreamed of a big party in Italy. Somewhere beautiful and private, where all their friends can let loose,” the source revealed. “London was the official wedding, but a big event is happening too, and it will be epic.”

A classic engagement ring

Another news item that caught fans' attention is her engagement ring. Charli’s engagement ring features a single round diamond, set in what appears to be platinum or white gold.

According to Elle, jewelers estimate the diamond to be between 1 and 2 carats, with a value ranging from $7,000 to $30,000, depending on its quality.

Jeweler Steph Mazuera told Elle that the diamond's high color and clarity give it a bright and icy sparkle. Lauren Boc of Hera Fine Jewelry noted that while the round shape is timeless, it’s less popular right now than elongated cuts like ovals or emeralds.

Charli revealed on The Howard Stern Show in 2024 that her engagement ring was too big, and she wore another ring on top to keep it from falling off. Jewelers quoted by Elle say this is a temporary solution, and resizing is the best long-term fix.
