Chaos at Paris Olympics.
The Paris Olympics closing ceremony saw its fair share of controversies and chaos, as there were botched up management scenes during on-stage performances, where athletes were seen crowding up on the huge stage on the pitch of Stade de France. The athletes became the locus of a massive controversy, after they ignored requests of coming down the stage, by the management and security staff, after which, things had to be tackled in a rather stern manner.

Videos of athletes being asked to get off the huge stage were seen on social media as well, leading to questions on the management of the closing ceremony, around why they were allowed to climb the stage in the first place, while artist performances were ongoing.

Athletes asked to leave stage via public announcements

As the pressure of the crowd on and around the stage kept mounting, the public announcement staff addressed the athletes twice in both French and English, saying, “Dear athletes please leave the stage”, which was not very well paid heed to initially.

Even the stewards at the venue asked the athletes to get down from the stage, after realizing the kind of chaos this is leading to.

Massive miscommunication may have led to this fiasco

According to reports, the band performing on-stage, when this incident happened, was performing while being surrounded by the athletes, without any shade of worry. Once the other athletes saw this, they may have climbed onto the stage as an invitation to join their colleagues, cheering up the band.

However, once the stewards, and other management and security staff took control of things, the stage was emptied within a matter of 10 minutes. This has implied that miscommunication may have led to this affair.
