Chaos at Paris Olympics: Closing ceremony sees hundreds of athletes climb onto stage, ignoring requests to come down

The Paris Olympics closing ceremony saw its fair share of controversies and chaos, as there were botched up management scenes during on-stage performances, where athletes were seen crowding up on the huge stage on the pitch of Stade de France. The athletes became the locus of a massive controversy, after they ignored requests of coming down the stage, by the management and security staff, after which, things had to be tackled in a rather stern manner.

Once the other athletes saw this, they may have climbed onto the stage as an invitation to join their colleagues, cheering up the band.

However, once the stewards, and other management and security staff took control of things, the stage was emptied within a matter of 10 minutes. This has implied that miscommunication may have led to this affair.
