Champions League 2023 schedule: Group stage draw live streaming, time, date, where to watch, all you need to know

A total of 26 teams will get direct entry into the Champions League 2023 while six will be selected based on their qualifying wins. The teams will be put in four pots from where they will be selected randomly and put into eight groups.

Champions League 2023: when the draw will be held



The draw for UEFA Champions League 2023-24 will be held at 5 pm (BST) or 12 noon (ET) on Thursday, August 31 at Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. It will take place a day after the preliminary round of Champions League qualifying is held.

While 26 teams get direct entry, six teams are selected based on their qualifying victories. All teams are kept in four pots from which they are selected randomly into eight groups. Two teams from the same sporting association will not be put in the same group. The UEFA has already announced the seeding for the Champions League 2023 group stage draw.

Pot 1
Pot 1 contains Manchester City, Napoli, Barcelona, Sevilla, Munich Munchen, Paris Saint Germain, Benfica and Feyenoord.

Pot 2
In pot 2 we have Arsenal, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, RB Leipzig, Porto, and Real Madrid.

Pot 3
Pot 3 has Shakhtar Donetsk, Salzburg, AC Milan, Lazio, Red Star Belgrade, Real Sociedad.

Besides Union Berlin, Lens and the other six teams will be in pot 4.

Kick-off


The group stage of the Champions League will kick off on September 19.
