In December 2022, Celine Dion shared her heartfelt video with her fans on Instagram, in which she revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare, incurable disease.The disease is known as the ‘Stiff Person Syndrome’. It is a neurological condition that causes unbearable muscle spasms in the body.
Following the diagnosis, Celine Dion postponed her tour, but she ultimately canceled it. In May 2023, she apologized to her fans for the cancelation.
She said, "It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour. I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again."
Now, Celine Dion’s sister Claudette Dion has a health update on her.
While speaking to the Le Journal de Montréal, published by SheMazing, Claudette Dion said that she gets updates on Celine from their sister Linda, who has moved in with Celine to take care of her.
“When I call her and she’s busy, I speak to my sister Linda who lives with her and tells me that she’s working hard,” said Claudette.
“At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It’s important to listen to it,” said Claudette.
“It’s innate to her, she’s disciplined in every area of her life,” Claudette said, implying that she is determined to find the right treatment for her illness.
“We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important,” said Claudette.
