The science teacher, who taught Celeste at Lakeland Village School in Lake Elsinore, California, shared with his current students that Celeste first went missing in early 2024 after allegedly meeting D4vd, whom he referred to as a rapper, on social media, according to a TMZ report.
According to the teacher, Celeste ran away to Hollywood with D4vd following their online meeting, but police traced her and returned her to her mother. The teacher noted that Celeste went missing again in May 2024, after which he had no word until the recent shocking police revelation confirming Celeste as the victim whose body was found in the singer's Tesla.
The teacher emphasized that he was sharing the details as a cautionary tale about the dangers of social media.
Celeste was said to be frequently absent during her time at Lakeland Village School, but the teacher was unaware of details about her home life. He also mentioned knowing another student connected to D4vd, who had also been seen speaking with the singer close to Celeste's family home.
Law enforcement sources have confirmed a search warrant was executed at the Hollywood Hills residence where D4vd had been living, with investigators looking for blood evidence as part of their homicide investigation.
Although the police have not named any suspects or persons of interest, the severity of the case is underscored by Celeste's body being discovered in such circumstances.
Celeste was reported missing last April, and her cause of death is considered a homicide, though details have not been officially disclosed. Authorities continue to investigate the timeline of her movements prior to her death and the possible connection to D4vd, who has been cooperating with the police. The unexpected and grim nature of the discovery has cast a pall over the music community, with the singer’s label pausing promotional activities amid the ongoing probe.
The 20-year-old singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, rose to fame with viral tracks like "Romantic Homicide" and "Here With Me," gaining millions of followers on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. His interactions with Celeste, including a video from January 2024 where they appear together in a livestream, are now under scrutiny as authorities piece together the events leading to her death.
