CDC: wastewater viral activity levels for Coronavirus
COVID-19 is set to return this summer in a big way and it's now ready to wreak havoc once again. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has warned that the wastewater viral activity levels for Coronavirus are "very high" in California, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, and Maryland, reports MSN. It is a matter of grave concern that the CDC in its last report of July 9 too highlighted the condition of these seven states along with 45 states where COVID-19 infections are "growing or likely growing." The agency also said that there is no state with "declining or likely declining" cases of COVID.

CDC warns against "high levels" in 44 states

The CDC warned that like other COVID strains, symptoms of the FLiRT variants include body chills, headaches, nausea, diarrhea, shortness of breath, and fatigue. The health agency also said that the National virus measurements in sewage reached “high” levels for the first time this summer. It is growing in 44 states.

COVID-19: Increased hospitalization

According to the 'Los Angeles Times', the positive result of COVID-19 tests in California has almost reached last summer’s peak. It is a matter of grave concern that the latest positive test rate almost exceeds the peak from last summer, which was 13.1% in late August and early September. The L.A. County Department of Public Health said in a statement that an increase has been registered in the number of cases, emergency department visits and hospitalizations for COVID-19.

More COVID-19 cases in summer

Talking to CBS News, Aron Hall, Deputy Director for Dcience in the CDC's Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Viruses Division said that the patterns that are consistent with what we have observed over the last couple of years in the summer, where we have seen upticks in activity that have occurred around this time of year that are not quite as large as what we see during the winter peaks.
